This saucepan or gravy dish was made by Beaumont Brothers Pottery in Crooksville, Ohio. Built in 1989, the pottery is known for their rustic, hand made salt glazed wares, each one of which is said to be unique. This is the type of serving pan the French call a saucière,a pan that's used to serve gravy and other sauces at the table.
It's made of grey stoneware clay, painted with a brown slip on the interior and decorated with green and tan leaves all around the exterior and on the handle. The glossy salt glaze coves all but the bottom, which has the hand-incised BBP mark.

The pan measures about 6 inches across from spout to handle, stands about 2 1/2 inches high and holds a cup (8 ounces) of liquid. The handle is comfortable to hold and the pan not uncomfortably heavy at 10 1/2 ounces. In excellent condition, it's a decorative and useful piece of pottery.
